I have been married before... twice technically but only one of those was legal. The non-legal one left me with a new last name and the legal one gave me Skeeter. I made a ton of compromises for those weddings and wasn't really happy at the time during either of them.
For my handfasting this weekend....
- I am happy to clean the house for guests but I don't have to clean mine/ the kids private bedrooms (because I am my own adult)
- I can wear black to my ceremony (and it can be accented by a suspension-grade green leather underbust corset if I want it to)
- I can wear pants and boots and be comfortable (and honestly be myself - and the person my lovers love)
- I will write my own vows and they won't sound a bit like traditional ones (but they will have more meaning than anything else I could say that was scripted)
- I can skip some boring formal dinner and jump straight to cake and drinks.... my kind of party.
I am excited. ~grins~

For my wedding I also felt it was important to express my genuine self. I pretty much succeeded in that! It felt great.
Congrats and have a great time.

Also, I'm looking forward to this! See you tomorrow night!!!
I am sorry...
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU!!! We wish you all the best in the years to come!!
YAY!! to you doing it YOUR way!!!
Also, I wish we had known you guys when we had our wedding. I mean, how can you go wrong with bubbles, exothermic reactions, lace on the blow-torches (and nowhere else), leather and a water-fight!?
And we wrote our own vows. We wish the exact same happiness for all of you!
*HUG*!
