What makes a great cargo pocket: size, closure, removeability? What is the perfect version of these traits?

I agree with Chew, that one-handed closure is key, and with the Pirate, on keeping the contents secure. I'd also add that placing the pocket so it doesn't chafe at your leg with a full load is vital. Ill fitting cargo pants do that to me - I end up with a scrape on the outside of my thigh from walking around if I'm carrying something bulky in my pocket. In a good fitting pair, the pocket moves more naturally with me, and I don't get that.
